Five Hour Beef Stew


This is for a single batch, adjust accordingly for larger roaster. We usually double everything except the tapioca. We fill a large roasting pan for a family of 5, with 3 large eaters.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds stewing beef, or whatever you wish to use
  • 1 cap beef broth
  • 5 carrots
  • 4 large potatoes
  • ½ cup celery
  • ½ green pepper
  • 1 medium onion
  • 8 ounces tomato sauce
  • 3 tablespoons tapioca
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, mix together the beef broth, salt, pepper, tomato sauce, and tapioca.
  2. li>Put meat and vegetables in roaster. Mix well.
  3. Pour the beef broth mixture in the bowl over meat and veggies.
  4. Cover and bake in 350 degree oven for 5 hours. Do not peek or stir.

Serves 4, Doubled serves 8
