Green Bean Casserole
Invented by Campbell's in 1955, this dish has become a prime example of typical American comfort food. It is especially popular during holidays, and pairs quite well with baked ham.
Ingredients
- 3 (8-ounce) packages frozen French cut green beans
- 1 (10 3/4-ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 1/3 cup French fried onions
- 1 teaspoon worcestershire sauce
- 1/8 teaspoon pepper
- non-stick cooking spray
Instructions
- Spray medium-sized casserole with non-stick cooking spray.
- Place beans in large strainer. Run warm water over them for a minute until thawed.
- Squeeze out water from beans with hands and add to casserole.
- Add cream of mushroom soup and stir.
- Add milk, worcestershire sauce and pepper and 1/2 of the onions and stir until combined.
- Cover casserole and bake for 30 minutes in 350 degree oven.
- Spead remaining onions over the top and bake uncovered for about 5 more minutes.
