Green Bean Casserole


Invented by Campbell's in 1955, this dish has become a prime example of typical American comfort food. It is especially popular during holidays, and pairs quite well with baked ham.

Ingredients

  • 3 (8-ounce) packages frozen French cut green beans
  • 1 (10 3/4-ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 1/3 cup French fried onions
  • 1 teaspoon worcestershire sauce
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • non-stick cooking spray

Instructions

  1. Spray medium-sized casserole with non-stick cooking spray.
  2. Place beans in large strainer. Run warm water over them for a minute until thawed.
  3. Squeeze out water from beans with hands and add to casserole.
  4. Add cream of mushroom soup and stir.
  5. Add milk, worcestershire sauce and pepper and 1/2 of the onions and stir until combined.
  6. Cover casserole and bake for 30 minutes in 350 degree oven.
  7. Spead remaining onions over the top and bake uncovered for about 5 more minutes.
